Charles Hammond OBE

Former Group CEO of Forth Ports Limited and Current Chair of AGS Airports


Charles led Forth Ports Limited as Group Chief Executive from 2001 to 2024, overseeing its growth into the UK's third largest ports group, owning and operating eight commercial ports, including Tilbury on the Thames, six ports on the Firth of Forth and Dundee on the Firth of Tay. For ten years, Charles chaired the UK Major Ports Group, and during Covid, sat on the Prime Minister’s Business Council. 

In 2020, Charles was awarded an OBE by the Queen's Birthday Honours List for services to the UK ports industry and Scottish business. He also received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce in 2024. 

Charles is currently Chair of AGS Airports, having previously been Non-Executive Director of Ports of Jersey Ltd, and Non-Executive Chairman of Space and People.
