School for CEOs Vital Few features first alumnus

10 April 2017

The first alumnus invited to join the School for CEOs’ Faculty was a keynote speaker at their spring Vital Few programme.

Steve Pateman was a delegate on a Vital Few programme three years ago and is now Chief Executive at Shawbrook Bank. In his opening remarks to the delegates he endorsed the programme by saying that ‘it distils the theory into reality’.

David Sole, co-founder of School for CEOs, said: ‘We were proud to welcome Steve back to our latest programme. We have now more than 200 Alumni many of whom are now in senior positions at leading companies in the UK. We were also delighted that Steve, now a member of our Faculty, joined us to share some of his experiences in his Chief Executive role.

‘School for CEOs was created to help organisations strengthen and deliver their succession pipeline and individuals prepare for senior leadership positions. It is rewarding for us to see our Alumni develop their careers following their experience with School for CEOs. It is only with the generous support of our Faculty that we are able to create programmes which equip senior executives with the tools they need to perform strongly as leaders of quoted, private or family companies.’

Delegates on this Vital Few programme also heard from communications expert Mary Spillane. She is a specialist in business development, performance improvement and personal branding. Mary works to bring the best out of senior business executives and CEOs in Industry, Financial and Professional Services. She also endorsed the School for CEOs programme saying that each programme just got better. ‘School for CEOs spends a lot of time fine tuning the programme and it really works’.

Delegates on the programme represented a wide range of sectors including construction, financial services and engineering. Feedback included appreciation of the very rich mix of speakers. In addition, The School’s own Foundation provides a scholarship opportunity on each programme allowing a candidate from a non-profit organisation to join the programme broadening the availability of executive learning.

School for CEOs is the leading leadership training organisation in the UK. Uniquely, School for CEOs programmes are delivered by experienced practitioners derived from proprietary research and the real life experiences of CEOs, Chairmen and expert advisors. A further important feature is the follow-up coaching support after the programme. The aim is to achieve tangible results in every delegate’s business.
