School for CEOs announces first programme

2 May 2012

The School for CEOs, a brand new concept in senior executive education, has announced its first programme. An accomplished Faculty of practitioners – leading businessmen and women – will help aspiring and current CEOs prepare for the top job in business. The first programme takes place at Browns Hotel in London on 19/20 September 2012. The Vital Few curriculum will cover practical, real-world topics including Setting the Agenda, Managing Key Relationships, Understanding the Derailers, Selecting the Team, and Self Management. Confirmed Faculty delivering the programme include Peter Norris, Chairman of Virgin Group; Carol Leonard, Head of Board Practice at Inzito LLP; Mary Spillane, consultant in Business and Leadership Development; and Francis Salway, until recently CEO of Land Securities plc.

“It’s very exciting to be announcing our first two-day programme. We aim to help ambitious and talented people realise their goal of becoming a truly excellent Chief Executive” said Patrick Macdonald, Chairman of Reconomy and former CEO of John Menzies plc, a co-Founder of the School.

The programme was launched in London last night at an event attended by leading businessmen, businesswomen, headhunters, consultants and private equity partners. An invited audience heard co-Founders David Sole and Patrick Macdonald, and Advisory Board members Sir David Reid (Chairman of Intertek plc and former Chairman of Tesco plc) and Alex Wilson (former Group Human Resources Director at BT plc), speak about the School for CEOs and the first Vital Few programme.

“It was wonderful to be joined by some of our fantastic Advisory Board and Faculty last night” said co-Founder David Sole, business coach and former international rugby captain. “I’m really looking forward to working with them to make this first programme a big success.”
