Learning at Work Week - Shaping Our Future
One of the highlights of this year’s theme ‘Shaping our future’ focuses on the vital role of learning and development in dealing with change and building resilience. It shows that by being willing and able to learn helps us to adapt and respond effectively to changing situations. It makes us flexible and more resilient as we develop the capacity to deal with and overcome challenges.
In the world of work change often brings disruption and an uncomfortable atmosphere but, like in all aspects of our lives, change can be a force for good. It can drive innovation, motivate great thinking and lead to better ways of doing things.
For leaders, change brings with it many challenges including
- winning people over to the new way of working,
- helping teams cope with the change and keeping them motivated.
- managing stress
Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of adversity and change whether that might be family and relationship problems, health issues or workplace stressors. It is often described as the ability to "bounce back" from difficult experiences. To do so requires self-insight into the psychological and emotional effects of change so to manage change confidently and thoughtfully.
At School for CEOs our new Leadership Series addresses this important topic and helps leaders develop greater resilience, to become less negatively affected by change helping delegates realise their potential and position themselves for success.
