How to get that golden ticket...
Non-executive directorships are increasingly sought after by talented executives looking to broaden their learning and experience outside of their current organisations. But as with any new experience, obtaining that elusive first non-exec position comes with its own set of challenges.
With this in mind, School for CEOs have partnered with Nurole for the second time to support the next generation of upcoming executives. Described by the Sunday Times as a ‘dating site’ for non-executives, Nurole is a global online marketplace, designed to match the best people with the right boards. Susie Cummings set up the digital platform in 2014 and has since accepted over 6000 registrants.
Susie will be joining School for CEOs in Edinburgh on 6th October to lead a short presentation, introducing Nurole and outlining the pros and cons of a non-executive role, after which the floor will open for Q&A. Patrick Macdonald, Co-founder of School for CEOs, Chairman and Interim CEO of Inenco (the energy consultancy and procurement specialists) and Chairman of Reconomy (a private equity backed waste recycling business) will also join Susie for Q&A. They will share their personal insights from the view of an organisation that matches individuals with non-executive positions, and also the individual who manages the Board.
Following the event there will be opportunity to register an interest to join the invitation-only platform, and search non-executive opportunities.
If you are interested in developing yourself in a non-executive role, or have responsibility for talent development within your organisation, please contact Gemma Sole at firstname.lastname@example.org for further details of the event. The evening event is kindly hosted by Standard Life Group in Edinburgh on Thursday 6 October.
